(Dan Tri) – Russian airborne forces and mechanized infantry units are taking over positions in the city of Bakhmut to replace the withdrawn Wagner force.

According to Mr. Cherevatyi, all of these Russian units have participated in the military campaign in Ukraine since February 24 last year and have suffered significant losses.
`Most of these are the second or third group of soldiers in these units,` Mr. Cherevatyi said, adding that fighting on the Bakhmut front has continued over the past few days.
On the same day, Mr. Yan Gagin, advisor to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (self-proclaimed), said that the Ukrainian army was not trying to regain the city of Bakhmut, but continued to shell the western suburbs of the city.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on May 20 that Russian forces took complete control of the city of Bakhmut during a special military operation in Ukraine.
Boss Wagner said this force will withdraw from Bakhmut from May 25 to June 1.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the country’s army have so far denied the news of Bakhmut’s fall.
Ukrainian officials said that Bakhmut is still the focus of Russia’s military campaign.
Ukraine insisted that its forces remained on the edge of Bakhmut in order to surround the city.
