(Dan Tri) – Vice Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev responded after former NATO Secretary General Anders Rasmussen said that some NATO members may consider the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine.

`Fogh Rasmussen was not a really wise person before. In an interview with the Guardian, he stated that even if Ukraine did not receive an invitation to join NATO in Vilnius, the countries of this alliance
Mr. Medvedev said that the people of NATO member countries should be asked whether they want to enter a war with Russia or not.
`Have the people of these countries been consulted? Who among them wants war with Russia? Do they really want hypersonic attacks on Europe? And what does America think about it?
The above statement by the former Russian President was made after former NATO Secretary General Anders Rasmussen said that a `volunteer coalition` led by Poland may decide to send soldiers to Ukraine if NATO does not give it.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that he would not attend the NATO conference if the alliance did not present a specific roadmap for Ukraine’s admission.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg affirmed that the issue of commitment to ensuring security for Ukraine will be on the summit agenda in Vilnius, but noted that NATO only ensures comprehensive security for members of the alliance.
Ukraine rejected the former NATO Secretary General’s idea of sending troops into the country.
`Until the military conflict on Ukrainian territory ends, other countries will not send troops to our country. Moreover, we are not asking for it. We are just saying: Please grant it.`
Mr. Kuleba emphasized that what Kiev wants is to get the best security commitment from the US-led military alliance to avoid future conflicts.
Foreign Minister Kuleba believes that Ukraine will become a member of NATO and then Ukraine will deploy its military units to allied countries.
Russia has repeatedly accused the US and its allies of continuing to provide weapons and military support to Ukraine, only prolonging and escalating the conflict.
Mr. Medvedev announced in February that Moscow would defend itself by all means, including nuclear weapons.
`All major powers see clearly that if America wants to defeat Russia, we will be heading towards a conflict on a global scale. If America wants to defeat Russia, we have the right to defend ourselves with any type of weapon.`
