(Dan Tri) – The Kremlin criticized a Ukrainian official’s threat to target Russian President Vladimir Putin, and affirmed that the Russian leader’s safety is always guaranteed.

`Believe me, our security agencies know their job and what they are doing,` Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded to the question of whether Russia increased security for President Putin like that.
The comment was made after Deputy Head of the General Directorate of Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR) Vadim Skibitsky told German newspaper Die Welt on May 24 that President Putin is one of the agency’s targets.
Mr. Skibitsky said President Putin probably also noticed that they were getting closer and closer.
The Kremlin spokesman said that Mr. Skibitsky’s comments showed that Russia’s military campaign became `reasonable, necessary and must achieve all set goals.`
Earlier this month, Russia accused Ukraine of being behind the attack by two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the Kremlin to assassinate President Putin.
The New York Times on May 24 quoted unnamed US officials revealing that the country’s intelligence agencies suspected the Kremlin raid was carried out by Ukraine’s intelligence unit or special forces.
Reacting to this information, Kremlin spokesman Peskov said: `In the end, it makes no difference which Ukrainian unit carried out the UAV raid on the Kremlin. We know that the Kiev government is behind it.`
Meanwhile, advisor to the President of Ukraine, Mr. Mykhailo Podolyak, affirmed that Kiev was not involved in that senseless attack.
On the US side, President Joe Biden’s administration has repeatedly emphasized that Washington does not support Ukraine attacking Russian territory because this would cause the conflict to escalate unpredictably.
`Once again, we have made it clear to Ukraine that we do not encourage nor support Ukraine to attack Russian territory. We certainly do not want any US-made equipment to be used to
He added: `We have received a commitment from Ukraine that they will respect that position. We just want them to be able to protect their territorial sovereignty, we do not want the conflict to go beyond Ukraine’s borders.`
